SkinPen Pre-Treatment Instructions:
• Discontinue use of exfoliating products (retinoic acid, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, etc.) 24 hours before treatment.
• If you have a history of cold sores, it’s recommended to take an antiviral before and after treatment to prevent an outbreak. If needed, contact our office for further information.

SkinPen Post-Treatment Instructions:
Immediately After Treatment:
• Do not apply any products (make-up, SPF, etc.) to the skin for 6-8 hours.
• Avoid clothing, headbands, or hats on the treated area. If needed, wear untreated cotton clothing.
• Redness and swelling may occur but should resolve within 1-2 days.

8 Hours After Treatment:
• Cleanse skin and apply hyaluronic acid serum as recommended by your clinician. Avoid any other products.

Days 1-6 Post-Treatment:
• AM Routine: Cleanse skin, apply hyaluronic acid serum, and follow with SPF.
• PM Routine: Cleanse skin and apply hyaluronic acid serum.
• Expect possible bruising, minor scabbing, breakouts, swelling, or redness, which should resolve in 7-10 days.
• Do not pick, peel, rub, or irritate your skin. Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs, and sweating, including exercise.
• Refrain from using facial brushes like Clarisonic.
• Mineral makeup may be used, but it’s best to leave the skin clean if possible.

Days 7+:
• Resume your regular skincare routine only after peeling/flaking has stopped. Allow your skin time to fully heal before restarting.
